 I am having Moscow mule. I think I like this Gosling’s better than the Bendaberg, but only when mixed with vodka. Bendaberg is tasty AF on its own.

Stopped by QT on the way home from #snowpocolypse2017 and got a big Coke Zero and a splash of orange. Drank it down an inch or so on the drive home and added whiskey to top it off. Then played Forza with my son. Good times.

I had a California dry red blend to go with my Calzone at my favorite (and also bring your own bottle) restaurant. It was not great, as I usually pick a properly good Chianti to bring along, but this bottle still got finished. The Calzone was as glorious as always.

The worst part, my wife picked a nice bottle of Crown Royal at a gift exchange over Christmas. Jackpot! She then traded it for an Olive Garden gift card.

Ninkasi Dawn Of The Red IPA at the moment, behind a Total Domination IPA also from Ninkasi, and a Figueroa Mountain Brewing Hoppy Poppy IPA. I’ve been on a detox diet with my wife all week and have to add them all back in, you know.

Yeah, I remember it being refreshing. I’m a bit picky about beers in certain seasons, I generally only drink stouts and porters when it’s cold out for example, but that’s a year ‘rounder.

Nice. I can’t do whiskey or any kind of hard alcohol, it all tastes like rocket fuel to me, but beer for life. Mostly IPAs for me here in CA, but as I said, that shifts a bit seasonally so I’ve been enjoying some great imperial stouts and smooth porters lately. I’m quite happy to bounce between styles, even mix them. I wish we got real Newcastle and Guinness, the shit we get is not the same brew, particularly Newcastle. Haven’t tried the others but for those and Speckled Hen.

I don’t do Scotch whisky (with the exception of one Auchentoshan, which a mate gave me at christmas and I only like it because it’s triple distilled and so tastes like an Irish whiskey) as it tastes awful to me, drinkable at a push but by no means a preferred taste.

There are so many beers, ales, ciders, lagers, stouts, etc... it’s down to trying them all. Finding one you like, commit it to memory and then keep going. When your not in the mood to try new ones, you just relax with one of the ones you know you like and then work on from there.

Guinness has so many in the range now from regular, draught, Original XX, Dublin Porter, West Indies Porter, HopHouse 13 and Golden Ale.

The latest is a Rye Pale Ale. I didn’t like that much as I’m not keen on amber ales.
